If you select a language but notice the app language doesn't change, try these fixes:
Restart the app.
Make sure your device has a network connection. If you change your app language when you’re not connected to the internet, the app language may not update.
Add the language as a secondary language, then try again to switch the app language:
On your Android device, open your Settings app.
Tap System > Languages & input > Languages.

After a few minutes, re-open your Settings app.
